Allulutho Dwandwa

“She knows what is expected of her and she loves the violin” – Allulutho’s Mum

Allulutho Dwadwa (10 years old, Grade 4) started playing the violin in Grade R. Her mother, Mongikazi, says “Allulutho” is the Xhosa name for “she means the world to me”. Her dream is for Allulutho is to play her violin on world stages around the world.

Mongikazi, a single mother, is raising Allulutho on her own since she was born. She works at the Department of Health at the Tygerberg Hospital. She believes in the importance of discipline, something that she knows Muzukidz instils in the students.

“It is the small things, like Allulutho washing her hands before she touches her violin,” that changed our lives. “Allulutho knows what is expected of her and she loves the violin.”

Says Mongikazi: “I support my child all the way. I take off from work to hear her play. I thank Maria for creating this beautiful environment and the chance she gave Allulutho.”
